There are so many great restaurants that specialize in steak. In fact, you might have trouble deciding which one is best to take your date. Good news for you, I’ve compared some of the best in town. If you’re looking for a top 5 list, then look no further. This is a list of the five best steakhouses in San Diego to take a date.
Awesome Steakhouses To Take A Date In San Diego, CA
No wasting time here. I’m just getting right to the meat and potatoes of things, pun intended! Here are some of the spots that you need to know about if you’re into steak and impressing a date.
Island Prime / C Level
No lie, this is one of my top date spots, especially if the girl is a smoke show! I don’t care if I’m just trying to have a fling or not. I go out of my way to wine and dine most women and I frequently start here. Island Prime is a mouthwatering upscale twist on fried food specializing in steak and seafood and is located on beautiful Harbor Island. Enjoy one of the best steaks in town, cooked to perfection, while taking in romance-inducing views of the bay and the downtown skyline.
Greystone Prime SteakHouse and Seafood
Located in the majestic Gaslamp Quarter, this classy steak eatery is one of the only restaurants in San Diego with Japanese wagyu beef which is one of the finest meats in the world. Their resident mixologists will mix the ultimate drink that will go perfectly with your meal.
Butcher Shop Steak House
This dark 1950s style retro Chicago-themed restaurant serves the finest quality mid-western aged steaks and chops charbroiled over a mesquite wood fire grill. The setting is perfect for romance with rich dark wood paneling, leather booths, etched glass panels, and even a fireplace.
This top notch La Jolla restaurant, located in the Gaslamp Quarter, flash fries their superb steaks at 1,600 degrees making them some of the most tender steaks in town. Enjoy magical ocean views and soothing décor featuring mahogany paneling and bronze statues.
Cowboy Star Restaurant and Butcher Shop
Get a taste of the old west at our number one steakhouse in San Diego. Every detail from the way the meat is cooked to the décor harkens back to the wild west with a fireplace, cowhide upholstery, exposed beams, and a stunning display kitchen where you can watch the magic happen. The freshness of the meat is undeniable because it’s attached to its own Cowboy Star butcher shop where you can purchase meat of your own and see if you can come close to the sublime taste that this historic western style restaurant pulls out of every item on the menu.
Besides what I determined were the five best, there are many other steakhouses that are well worth trying. Every single one of them shows how much people in San Diego love eating steak. The historic Turf Supper Club with its self-service communal grill, the old fashioned hotel bar and restaurant Albie’s Beef Inn with its Naugahyde booths and live piano music and more. I could go on and on about these actually.
Some other steakhouses worth mentioning are The Tractor Room with its outdoor patio and craft cocktails, the Frank Sinatra style steakhouse Red Fox Room, Morton’s, Bully’s East Restaurant where it’s part cocktail lounge and part sports bar, or San Diego’s oldest Brazilian steakhouse Rei Do Gado Brazilian Steakhouse with 15 varieties of grilled meat.
Do yourself a solid and find someone to take on a casual date. Bring them to a nice steakhouse and feed them some drinks. Chances are you’ll be banging in no time.
